THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE. THE CHANGE. THE RESULT.

The challenge

A school-delivery contract required signature evidence for payment, while paper slips and manual processing created operational risk. The distributor needed an integrated mobile workflow within a pressing deadline.

The change

A combined internal and specialist team built an OutSystems application connecting ERP orders, route assignments and mobile delivery capture. Offline use, signature capture, photo fallback and synchronization supported work away from reliable connectivity.

The outcome

The source reports nine weeks of development followed by three weeks of final acceptance testing and training. Four additional projects followed the initial pilot; the development milestone should not be described as the full production rollout.

DIGITAL ALCHIMIA’S DELIVERY PERSPECTIVE

What could this approach unlock for your business?

The useful next step is to connect the story to your own operating reality. Here are the questions we would bring into that conversation.

01

Define what constitutes usable delivery evidence.

A signature, photograph and delivery adjustment may serve different operational purposes. Agree which evidence is required, how it is linked to the order and how exceptions are reviewed. OutSystems professionals can reinforce the mobile workflow while contract and service owners define acceptable proof.

02

Reserve time to prove synchronization in real work.

Offline capture needs acceptance tests for retries, duplicate records and changed orders, alongside training for drivers and planners. Plan that work as part of the release rather than assuming development completion means operational readiness. A joint team can also transfer the expertise needed for the next application.
