THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE. THE CHANGE. THE RESULT.

The challenge

An aging payment collection system was difficult to adapt to new channels and gave teams limited visibility of problems before customers complained. Manual reconciliation and delayed notifications added operational friction.

The change

The provider built a modular OutSystems collection application connected to SAP, Oracle, business-unit systems and banks. Payment information and exception detection became accessible through a shared operational workflow.

The outcome

The source reports that about 80% of collections used the new application at the time of writing. Developing and implementing customizations took half the previous time, while service staff gained real-time payment status and automated duplicate detection.

DIGITAL ALCHIMIA’S DELIVERY PERSPECTIVE

What could this approach unlock for your business?

The useful next step is to connect the story to your own operating reality. Here are the questions we would bring into that conversation.

01

Make payment state and exception ownership explicit.

An operational payment view needs clear definitions for received information, reconciliation and unresolved exceptions. Map those states with finance and service teams before presenting them to users. OutSystems specialists can reinforce integrations and controls while the organization retains ownership of financial decisions.

02

Plan the next channel around shared controls.

A new payment channel should reuse validation, audit and monitoring capabilities where appropriate. Agree how the team will test failures and reconcile results before expanding traffic. The delivery roadmap then connects channel flexibility with the operational confidence needed to support it.
